To students who are just beginning Tae Kwon Do and/or Hap Ki Do, please do not fear or expect too much of your new found practice. The majority of beginners experience a feeling of inadequacy with regard to performing to movements involved. Do not feel this way; it is common, and short-lived. Students cannot be an instant expert, and no one expects students to do more than your best. Students who expect too much in the beginning, will become disappointed. For example: if someone try's to eat more than their stomach will hold, then they will become sick. Just like eating, students can digest only a certain amount during each practice session.
Every beginner must remember…there is neither a “easy come, easy go”… nor a “no pain” fitness system … the true winners are the ones who never give up! It is not a matter of who has the best technique it is who has a burning desire and does his, or her, best. There is no such thing as who is the best student, it is one who never gives up. With a positive mental attitude, and strives to do their best. Improving continuously. I strongly believe you can, and will, be the best student in Lee’s Korean Martial Arts School with the right attitude, and perseverance. Martial Arts training has the potential to make you healthier, and maybe even happier, than you have ever been.
Sincerely, Grandmaster Lee
